Frank教授介绍:
Name: Prof. Dr. Frank U. Hamelmann
Nationality: German
Affiliation: University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld
Professional experience in Industry: After his phd thesis, he worked as scientific assistant at Bielefeld University (faculty of physics) from 2000 to 2006, continuing his research activities on thin film deposition and analysis. On February 2006, he joined Schueco Internaional KG in Bielefeld, Germany, to work as development engineer in the R&D department of the company on research and development of thin film silicon solar cells until February 2011. This position included managing national and international collaborations with institutes and companies on thin film PV research.
Professional experience as professor: In September 2010, he became professor for physics at University of Applied Sciences Bielefeld in the department of technology (Campus Minden). He is founding member of the “Bielefeld Institute for Applied Materials Research (BIfAM)”, co-founder of the “Solar Computing Lab” at Campus Minden, and founding member of the research center “Interdisciplinary research for decentralized, sustainable and secure energy concepts (IFE)”.
Teaching: In teaching, Prof. Hamelmann is giving lectures on “basic physics for engineers”, “applied physics”, “technical mechanics”, “energy efficiency”, and takes part in lectures for “web engineering” with the application of renewable energies. He also offers students projects on renewable energies and energy efficiency with interdisciplinary aspects in web engineering technologies.
Technological skills: thin film solar cell technology, photovoltaic module technology, thin film deposition (CVD, PVD, sol-gel), thin film analysis (x-ray diffraction, AFM, ellipsometry, electron microscopy, Raman-, FTIR- spectroscopy, …), vacuum technology, interdisciplinary research projects.
Publications: > 60 papers in international journals on thin film technology and solar cells, many participations on national and international conferences on photovoltaics and materials research.
